Parish Councillors

When running at full capacity the full Council consists of seven members, all members live within the Parish. Three Councillors representing Collingtree North (Collingtree Park) and four Councillors representing Collingtree South (the original village). We currently have one vacancy on the Parish Council.

Individual Parish Councillor Responsibilities

Members are allocated certain responsibilities. If you need to report matters of concern in the Parish please report them to the allocated Councillor who will assist you with your query or pass it on to the Parish Clerk.

Matters relating to the Play Area, Playing Field and Village Maintenance matters are carried by our groundman Rob Flight.

From December 2017 the maintenance of the grass verges, tree trimming and other adhoc duties has been covered by local workman Rob Flight. Please feel to highlight any issues or areas in the Parish that may need some attention.

Councillor News:

 

July 2022 - Following the resignation of Alison Minney the Parish Council currently has one vacancie for Parish Councillor - Please contact the Clerk at clerk@collingtreepc-gov.co.uk to register your interest.

July 20th 2022 - We are pleased to co-opt another resident from Collingtree Park Mr Chris Wilson onto the Parish Council. This gives us two members of the PC representing the views of Collingtree Park.

June 24th 2022 - Unfortunately Alison Minney has resigned after only serving 5 months on the PC. We wish her well with her future endeavours.

May 12th 2022 - We are delighted to announce at our Annual Meeting of the Parish Council we were able to co-opt two new councillors Andrea McFadyen and Emma Sinfeld bringing some fresh new ides with them.

March 2022 Stuart Parsons served on the Parish Council just shy of three years. Stuart hopes to be able to rejoin the Parish Council again when his working life is less busy. We would gladly accept him back onto the PC and look forward to seeing him soon.

March 2022 Gurge Phull served for 20 months on the Parish Council. We wish Gurge well in his new endeavours.

Jan 25th 2022 - The Parish Council welcomes a new member Alison Minney onto the council, filling one of the vacancies created by the resignations of Owen Coop and Paul Thomas. Alison is the latest member to join the PC and was co-opted as Parish Councillor at our Parish Council meeting held on the 25th January 2022.

July 2021 - The Parish Council has one vacancy for Parish Councillor - Please contact the Clerk at clerk@collingtreepc-gov.co.uk to register your interest.

June 16th 2021 - The Parish Council welcomes a new member Paul Thomas onto the council, filling one of the vacancies created by the resignations of Owen Coop and Ted Anderson. Paul is the latest member to join the PC and was co-opted as Parish Councillor at our Parish Council meeting held on the 16th June 2021.

May 2021 - 2 vacancies on the PC - Following the May 2021 Elections we now have two vacancies on the Parish Council. Please contact the Clerk if you are interested in applying for one of the vacancies.

May 2021 - The Parish Council is sad two lose two members of the PC. Our Chair Mr Owen Coop stood down due to health reasons. Owen was a very active chairman and worked tirelessly for the good of the community, Owen will be sorely missed.

Ted Anderson served 14 years on the Parish Council and was active in maintaining outdoor areas including the playing field the Collingtree trough and planters. Ted was an asset to the council.

August 12th 2020 - The Parish Council welcomes a new member Sharon Collins onto the council, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Ian Hill. Sharon is the latest member to join the PC and was co-opted as Parish Councillor at our Parish Council meeting held on the 12th August 2020.

July 8th 2020 - The Parish Council welcomes a new member Gurge Phull onto the council, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Lisa Pattle. Gurge is the latest member to join the PC and was co-opted as Parish Councillor at our Extra Ordinary Parish Council meeting held on the 8th July 2020.

2nd July  2020 - Following the resignation of Ian Hill, a casual vacancy now exists for a Parish Councillor in the Parish of Collingtree. If you feel you have a few hours a month to spare and would like to get involved in the decision making of the Parish, please consider applying for the vacancy.

Ian Hill served as the Parish Council Chairman from March 2018 to July 2020. Ian was a well liked and well valued member of the Parish Council. Ian was an active member of the PC and his efforts on the council will certainly be missed.

12th May 2020 - Following the resignation of Lisa Pattle (due to moving out of the Parish) a casual vacancy now exists for a Parish Councillor in the Parish of Collingtree. If you feel you have a few hours a month to spare and would like to get involved in the decision making of the Parish, please consider applying for the vacancy.

June 26th 2019 - The Parish Council welcomes a new member Lisa Pattle onto the council, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Mark Underwood. Lisa is the latest member to join the PC and was co-opted as Parish Councillor at our Parish Council meeting held on the 26th June 2019.

We are excited to welcome Lisa onto the Parish Council, Lisa currently runs the Wooden Walls public house and is already a valuable member of the community serving parishioners in all sorts of ways.

May 22nd 2019 - The Parish Council welcomes a new member Stuart Parsons onto the council, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Karen Hopkins. Stuart Parsons is the latest member to join the PC and was co-opted as Parish Councillor at our Extra Ordinary meeting held on the 22nd May 2019.

May 8th 2019 - Following the resignation of Mark Underwood a casual vacancy now exists for a Parish Councillor in the Parish of Collingtree. If you feel you have a few hours a month to spare and would like to get involved in the decision making of the Parish, please consider applying for the vacancy. 

Mark Underwood served as the Parish Council Chairman from May 2016 to 2019. Mark was a well-liked and well-valued member of the Parish Council. Mark brought about some significant changes to the Parish Council and to Collingtree Parish. He will be sorely missed.

March 2019 - Following the resignation of the Karen Hopkins a casual vacancy was created for a Parish Councillor in the Parish of Collingtree.

March 2018 - New Councillor Ian Hill is co-opted

The Parish Council welcomes a new member Ian Hill onto the council. Ian Hill is the latest member to join the PC and was co-opted as Parish Councillor at our 14th March 2018 meeting.

Notice of Vacancy - 28th November 2017

Following the resignation of the Vice-Chairman Colin Stevenson a casual vacancy was created for a Parish Councillor in the Parish of Collingtree. Colin was a great asset to the Parish Council and will be greatly missed.

October 2017 - Loss of long serving member of the Parish Council - Trini Crake

It was with great sadness the Parish Council announced the passing of Councillor Trini Crake. Trini was a valued member of the Parish Council and was very passionate about helping members of the community. Trini will be greatly missed!

Long serving Chairman retired from post in May 2016 and left the Parish Council on 31st October 2016

Councillor Malcolm Brice was a long serving Parish Councillor and has served on the Council on and off for the past 22 years, stepping down as Chairman in May 2016. He was first elected as Chairman in 1994 taking a five year break between 1999 and 2005. Malcolm rejoined the Council and was elected Chairman once again. In total Malcolm has served a total of 16 years as Chairman and 6 years as a Councillor. Malcolm gave notice to the Council in 2015 that he wished to step down and left the Council on 31st October 2016. 

The Parish Council appreciate all the hard work, dedication and hands on approach Malcolm has contributed in the last 22 years.

The Clerk

Mrs Shirley Wong  - The Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer is the only Council employee and has been in the post since April 2015. The Clerk is normally the first point of contact with the Parish Council from the elector's point of view.  

Shirley is a fully qualified Clerk and has obtained her Cilca qualification, which is a National Qualification for Parish Clerks. Shirley has thirteen years of experience working as a Parish Clerk / Responsible Financial Officer since 2008.
